Plant physiology

The main research of the Plant Physiology group is focused on the response of plants to different abiotic stresses, such as high or low temperatures, water shortage, and metal pollution. In recent years the group has also worked on the interaction between plants of agronomic interest and beneficial soil microorganisms. It also studies intra- and inter-plant communication mediated by volatile organic compounds. The studies are carried out through physiological and molecular analyzes, in particular proteomics and phosphoproteomics.
