The
studies address the phylogeography of the threatened crayfish Austropotamobius
(Decapoda; Astacidae) in Italy. Main objective is to identify the different
management units (MUs) that can be used in conservation plans, preventing any
contamination/alteration of the natural white-clawed crayfish population in
Northern Italy.

A
phylogeographic study of the Italian populations of Telestes muticellus
has been recently activated with the objective of determining the phylogenetic
structure of congener species and the patterns of genetic differentiation within
the Italian peninsula.
